Starting from the writings of Federico Zuccari, the cycle aims to reconstruct, on a philological and genetic basis, the theoretical physiognomy, the background and the philosophical, linguistic, literary and artistic implications, as well as the material and immaterial networks and paths of transmission and circulation of the ideas and concepts considered.

The Mapping Ideas seminars will be held in person (a remote link is available), once a month, from 11 November 2022 to 24 February 2023, at the Sala Colleoni – Aula Magna of the Academy of Fine Arts in Via di Ripetta 222 – 00186 Rome.

Full programme:

11 November 2022
Intellect, Intelligent

Salvatore Carannante (Trento, University of Trento) | Seminar Leader
Leen Spruit (Nijmegen, Radboud University)
Lorenzo Pericolo (Tallahassee, Florida State University)

Download the PDF

16 December 2022
Understanding, Understood

Donata Levi (Udine, University of Udine) | Seminar Leader
Anna Maria Siekiera (Campobasso, University of Molise)
Paul S.
