{"id":137222,"date":"2024-01-11T15:57:20","date_gmt":"2024-01-11T14:57:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abaroma.it\/art-as-a-degree-dignity-for-the-afam-qualification\/"},"modified":"2026-09-30T14:39:34","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T12:39:34","slug":"art-as-a-degree-dignity-for-the-afam-qualification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abaroma.dev.cappellidesign.com\/en\/art-as-a-degree-dignity-for-the-afam-qualification\/","title":{"rendered":"Art as a degree \u2013 Dignity for the AFAM qualification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 19 December, an event was held, coordinated by the National Conferences of AFAM Students (CNSI and CPCSAI), with the aim of raising awareness among legislators and the public on the issue of the designation of the qualifications awarded by AFAM institutions, so that they are finally granted the definition of &#8220;diploma di laurea&#8221; (degree), replacing the current term &#8220;<em>academic diploma<\/em> \u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The request is certainly motivated by the need to give dignity to the advanced training pathway in the arts and music, of which the qualification is necessarily the seal; but also by concrete and tangible needs such as the completion of the process of adaptation and conformity to the directives arising from the Bologna process, which are now fully shared throughout Europe. In fact, from a regulatory point of view, the designation \u201claurea\u201d is more consistent with the Italian higher education system, since AFAM and universities share the division of studies into three cycles, the credit structure (ECTS) and the designation of third-cycle courses of study (Dottorato di ricerca).<\/p>\n<p>For these reasons, on 19 December 2023, the students of ABA Roma, with the collaboration of students from other academies, conservatories and ISIA, created a large laurel wreath in front of the MUR headquarters in an act of collective performance and demonstration. At the end of this collective gesture, a meeting was held with two technical representatives of the Ministry.
