On 4-5-6 June 2025, in Room 6B of the Campo Boario site of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome – Largo Dino Frisullo s.n.c., from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the third edition of INCLUSIVE ARTS will be held, a workshop open to all students of ABA Rome on the expressive opportunities offered byinclusive design in the field of the arts.
The European accessibility legislation, which is being progressively implemented, obliges digital content providers to create accessible versions for people with disabilities.
How can specific professional skills be developed?
The technical-practical workshop INCLUSIVE ARTS 2025 will guide you in learning some ‘inclusive’ communication techniques and procedures that will be increasingly in demand in the public and private sectors.
On 4 June, Antonio Lo Iacono and Francesca Massaioli will tackle, in a didactic and experimental synergy between them, the arduous task of creating accessible apps starting from an ‘accessible web’ substrate and with particular reference to the needs of people suffering from spasms and tremors.
On 5 June Giulia Nicolai and Francesca Colonia of Betterpress Lab will organise an experimental workshop “Listening, imagining, creating”, during which they will creatively investigate the theme of inclusiveness through the exploration of rhythms, sounds and visual forms, creating a collective work that reflects the interaction between sound and typographic form and investigating experimental approaches to the creation of multi-sensory works.
On 6 June Veronica Bonatesta will introduce concepts of creative accessibility for an audiovisual product, offering opportunities to understand how subtitling solutions and other forms of creative accessibility can make an audiovisual product accessible and usable to a wider audience, with particular regard to blind and deaf people.
In the afternoon, representatives of the highly regarded Cooperativa Yeah! will introduce us to their valuable digital accessibility validation protocols with a particular focus on the needs of visually impaired and blind people, also considering the involvement of students with special characters in these protocols (for the future).
