Inclusive Arts 2023 Workshop. Arts and crafts for inclusive storytelling
In light of the European accessibility legislation, which is being progressively implemented and will oblige all digital content providers to create accessible versions for people with disabilities, the search for specific professional skills is emerging: this is the reason for the workshop Inclusive Arts 2023 workshop, which sees the participation of young artists and experimenters with inclusive design techniques and procedures in the field of artistic digital communication, who were recently involved in the creation of the book: INCLUSIVE DESIGN: REGULATORY OBLIGATIONS AND EXPRESSIVE OPPORTUNITIES
From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Chiara Protani will demonstrate how illustration techniques can be useful for Augmentative and Alternative Communication and, in particular, for the creation of InBooks and IN-Comics.
From 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Alessandro Carducci will illustrate inclusive design techniques for animation, video games and entertainment products.
From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Ivan Legnaioli will illustrate the techniques and procedures necessary to make a website accessible according to AGID regulations, including Office documents and PDFs.
From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Veronica Bonatesta will illustrate the techniques and procedures necessary to make an audiovisual product accessible to deaf people through newly conceived creative subtitling.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday 7 June 2023 in multimedia room 6B of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in Campo Boario. It will be freely accessible, with fifteen places reserved for ABARoma students, teachers and staff upon request for registration to e.bisenzi@abaroma.it, the workshop coordinator. All workshop participants will be able to experiment with the techniques and procedures illustrated independently with the support of the speakers themselves (it is recommended that participants bring their own graphics tablet for the illustration techniques part) and receive 1 CFA for participating in the workshop.
