On Saturday 6, Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 May, the workshop “Universo Noi” will take place for students on the two-year Graphic Arts course in Art Printing, curated by Prof. Gaetanina Campisi. For three days, students will be able to engage with Paolo Ristonchi, an artist who has always been associated with colour, drawing and art books.
The workshop will draw on his artistic experience and involve the students in the design of a shared book, a series of works of “correspondence” between the participants.
Investigation is the founding substance of art, the choice between the expressive possibilities that originate from the relationship between us and the world: in the workshop, a collective book will take shape, a “catalogue of possibilities”. At the end of the workshop, a few copies of the book will be printed in a limited edition. (…) “Leafing through a book implies an action, a passage; it is like taking a path, navigating in a different temporal dimension. In a book, the timeline once again becomes a determining factor, but it takes on a new role and opens up to further complexities.” Paolo Ristonchi, 2013.

Paolo Ristonchi (Florence, 1936) attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, then moved to Rome, where he graduated from the Academy in 1967. His exhibitions include: Art Book Berlin, Kunstraum Bethanien, Berlin, (2017); Die Tätigkkeit des Zeichnens, Galerie 5020, Salzburg, (2014); Paolo Ristonchi: a world of poetic light, Pici Gallery, Seoul (2006); Nuove Acquisizioni, Museo Luigi Pecci, Prato (2002); Galleria G7, Bologna, (2001); Irradiazioni, Museo Luigi Pecci, Fabbrica ex Fibretex, curated by Tommaso Trini, Prato (1993); Paolo Ristonchi: Micce, Monte Saraceno, Puglia, curated by Bruno Corà (1993); Palais
