A workshop curated by Prof. Sandro Tiberi (Academy of Fine Arts in Rome), funded by the Marche Region and in collaboration with the Municipality of Fabriano.

Intended for those enrolled in the two-year paper technology course.

The purpose of this training event is to involve the young artists of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in a journey that will see them as protagonists, generating in them a different and expanded awareness of paper and its manufacturing techniques.

The workshop will take place in the setting of the city of Fabriano, named by the Marche Region as a “City of Paper” and included in the UNESCO Creative Cities network.
During the workshop, paper and its manual processing will be seen not as a simple production system, but as a true creative process, on a par with painting, sculpture or other artistic techniques. Paper, therefore, not only as a medium, but as a work that lives for itself and becomes the protagonist.
A unique opportunity that will see the union of two prestigious institutions, Fabriano and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, in the name of promoting the local area; the sites of interest for the workshop will be the Palazzo del Podestà, the Museum of Paper and Watermarks and the workshop of the master Sandro Tiberi, where the students will have at their disposal a workshop equipped for works up to 70×100 cm in size.

The training event will last a week, and the ten selected participants will be involved from the beginning in a journey that goes from the creation of the work tools to the finished work. At the end of the experience, the works created by the students will be showcased in an exhibition hosted by the Oratorio della Carità, a prestigious site located in the centre of the city and home to the Fabriano Museum of Paper and Watermarks. The exhibition, which will be created by the students themselves, can be admired for at least ten days, at the following times: Tuesday to Sunday: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
