Press Release
Note a margine is not only the title that, with the curator Sandro Polo, we wanted to give to the exhibition, but it is also a tribute to the place that hosts us: the Gino Pallotta library in Fregene. A special space, rescued from the underworld and reactivated as
a resilient bastion of culture, reflection and imagination. The book is a treasure chest containing words and images. It is an image itself; and some of the young artists present have tackled this issue, directly or indirectly,
issue, also through the use of the architectural objects that accompany reading, such as the chair and the table. Others, given that the exhibition takes place mainly in the park that surrounds the building, have engaged with nature: mirrors that re-read the green of the blades of grass, canvases that interact with the trees, small and precious papers made with earth and sand, stone sculptures, composite panels of various sizes that form a single work that interacts with the surrounding space.
The young artists participating in this exhibition are students from the Department of Visual Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and have been nominated by the lecturers: Pietro Capogrosso (Drawing for Sculpture), Federico Fusi (Sculpture Techniques),
Francesco Intreccialagli (Ornamental Plastic Art), Anna Maiorano (Decoration), Maria Teresa Padula (Decoration), Michele Prezioso (Drawing for Decoration), Vincenzo Scolamiero (Painting), Nicola Spezzano (Decoration), Marco Brandizzi (Decoration).
We would like to thank the Mayor of Fregene, Esterino Montino, the staff of the Gino Pallotta library in Fregene, the GAF-Glocal Art Factory, and the curator of the exhibition, Sandro Polo.
