Please note that from 1/12/2023, new applications for the assignment of a tutor by the Inclusion service will not be accepted.
With reference to the recommendations of Law 17/1999 regarding school and university integration, the Academy of Fine Arts offers a tutoring service for students with disabilities and/or with a certified diagnosis of a learning disorder.
This service provides, at the request of the person concerned or their family, the assignment of a contact person who, through targeted and organised actions based on the specific needs of the individual student, supports and monitors the learning process in the various phases of the educational pathway.
The tutor acts as an intermediary between the student and the institution as a whole: on the one hand, they help the student to find their way, to develop their ability to interact with the institution and its organisation, and to participate with individual contributions to the proposals of the educational environment; on the other hand, the tutor communicates with the teaching staff and the educational facilities to facilitate the integration process.
The objectives of the tutoring are: to promote integration, relationships, and the inclusion of students and auditing students in the context of the Academy, and to support the learning process.
The support measures are:
- Physically accompanying students with severe disabilities, encouraging participation and exchange, building relationships with lecturers and other students, translating/interpreting the educational proposal of the specific subject into achievable and verifiable activities to be shared with the lecturer.
- guiding the student through the organisation of the institution (how to access, obtain and use information on courses and teaching materials, talk to the lecturer and colleagues, know and meet deadlines, etc.)
- helping them with their studies (organising their studies, helping them to read and outline and understand complex concepts and ideas)
- encouraging the development of the student’s educational needs in relation to the world of work.
- meeting with the relevant lecturer at the beginning of the courses to discuss some specific, achievable objectives that are necessary for passing the exam.
For information on how to request the tutoring service, please consult the course prospectus.
