Floracult, Nature is Culture. Wonders between earth and sky
The event FLORACULT XII Edition of the Amateur Floriculture Trade Fair Exhibition, promoted and organised by Ilaria Venturini Fendi and curated by Antonella Fornai, a well-known garden expert, and by the landscape architect Francesco Fornai, is held at the Casali del Pino in Rome. For this edition, it will take place from 22-23-24-25 April 2023, hosts the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome for the fourth time, with the Sculpture Course, taught by Professor Oriana Impei and the subject specialist Yikun Chen. International students will take part in a live Sculpture Exercitium among the visiting public and in an exhibition on the lawn of the Casali del Pino, exhibiting and creating works in wood, tuff and sculptural felt, the latter created in a workshop curated by the artist Diana Biscaioli at the Academy itself.
Flowers, plants, insects and anthropomorphic forms, realistic and informal, dreamlike and fantastic, create a path of wonders, between earth and sky.
Nature and artifice, ancient tradition and experimentation together, are a partnership between forms, materials that are also natural, such as pine wood, tuff from the Cave di Riano and sheep’s wool, both from the Casali del Pino farm and natural felt but already processed, carded and then worked with needle and water techniques, to create sculptural works, with the aim of presenting and creating live, completely organic, environmentally friendly works through sheep’s wool, forms that integrate with the surrounding landscape.
The professional artists Oriana Impei, Diana Biscaioli, Solmaz Vilkachi, Fabiola Cenci, Emanuele Marsigliotti and Marijcke Von Der Maden support the students, with their installations in a sensory, interactive and tactile journey that involves all the elements of nature.
