The La Nuova Pesa Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition 1:10, which features artists and curators from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, as part of the Accade! project, an experience conceived and curated by the Gallery with the intention of giving space to new artistic ferment.
1:10 is a project that involves the participation of eight artists who are given the opportunity to devise an exhibition project within the space of the Sala Babele. On display are eight 1:10 scale models illustrating the interventions conceived by the artists, accompanied along the walls of the room by design clouds that display the focus on the conception and design phase of the same. Each intervention was built through constant dialogue and discussion between artists and curators, the record of which lies in notebooks specially designed to document the entire process.
An unusual exhibition, collective but at the same time personal, which is the result of a relationship between artist and curator, an experimental workshop of growth and awareness.
The La Nuova Pesa Gallery was founded in 1959 by the Roman entrepreneur Alvaro Marchini, with the aim of creating a space for contemporary art of international importance. The Gallery plays a key role in the cultural and artistic life of the city of Rome; its history is marked by notable exhibitions, talks and events. Following a ten-year break, the space reopened in 1985 as a Cultural Centre, based on Simona Marchini’s desire to take up her father’s project, emphasising work carried out with passion and dedication.
