Art, creativity, communication and social commitment. The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome returns as one of the key players in the Charity Gala Dinner for “Arte & AIDS”, the Anlaids Lazio campaign created to support awareness and prevention projects in the fight against AIDS. On the evening of 13 June 2019, the traditional fundraising charity dinner took place in the cloister and the enchanting spaces of Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, in Rome.
Following the success of last year’s edition, the event returned to combine entertainment with health and cultural battles, with moments dedicated to painting, fashion, the creative spirit of various celebrities, involved as testimonials, and the work of many students.
Matteo Corvino, designer and organiser of theatrical shows and major events, was also confirmed as director. And while the students of the IED – European Institute of Design – took care of the digital area of the project, the students of the Academy, under the supervision of Corvino and with the collaboration of the lecturers, designed decorations and scenographic elements, replicating the experience of 2018.
New this year for the institution in Via Ripetta: the spotlight was on the various capsule collections designed by the students, on the occasion of the latest edition of AltaRoma, as part of the Fashion Culture and Technology course, with Fashion Design professors Alberto Moretti and Sara Chiarugi. A parade of bold creations, brought together under the title-concept “Corea Project”, which from the catwalks of the Rome fashion week have returned to showcase the talent and inspirations of the very young designers, recontextualised in the special setting of a sumptuous 17th-century residence. Once again, the Academy confirms its vocation as a hotbed and workshop, interweaving training, production, intellectual exchange and a constant presence within the social fabric and cultural debate, between the Capitoline and national scenes.
