Press conference on Tuesday 14 November at 5:00 pm

On Tuesday 14 November, the exhibition “ArtèEuropa – Giovani artisti per il futuro dell’Europa” will be inaugurated in Rome, organised by the Ragnarock Association in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and with the support of the European Parliament in Italy.
For this second edition, nine young artists, students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, were asked to express themselves, through their works, on the themes of the values of the European Union.
The opening press conference will be attended by MEPs from the European Parliament in Italy, the Director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Cecilia Casorati, the Chair of the Ragnarock Association, Marco Germinario, and the selected artists.

In the run-up to the next European Elections scheduled for 2024, citizens of the European Union will have the opportunity to elect their representatives as Members of the European Parliament. Those elected will have the task of creating and approving the provisions that regulate the lives of European citizens. Starting from this extraordinary phase of democratic participation, in recent months the young artists have been engaged in creating works that embrace themes such as democracy, justice, support for the economy, the fight against poverty, human rights, climate change and much more.

Statements:
Cecilia Casorati, Director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, says: “ArtéEuropa, in its second edition, confirms the presence of the students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and focuses on the point of view of a generation that is too often ignored, but which should instead be listened to. The dramatic news of these days shows how the themes proposed are not generic but rather bring the urgent need for cohesion of the European identity back to the centre. The words of art offer a different point of view; they ask us questions, which we must all try to answer.”

Marco Germinario, founder of Ragnarock: “Our association was founded with the aim of making a positive contribution to the society in which we live, taking the diversity of the people who inhabit it as a point of inspiration. We therefore strongly believe that art as a communicative language can be the lifeblood for what we have set out to do. ArtèEuropa, a project based on the ideals of community and cooperation interpreted through the eyes of artists in training, is an outcome that goes precisely in this desired direction.”
