Exhibition of modern and contemporary art. Acquario Romano 4 August – 12 September. Free admission

Thursday 4 August 2022 from 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm The exhibition will open at the Acquario Romano – Casa dell’Architettura in Piazza Manfredo Fanti 47 in Rome. Cohesion: Water and life, curated by Oriana Impei, Francesco Gallo Mazzeo and ASIART and in collaboration with LPGA Little Painter Global International Art Exhibition and the ASEM Association. The exhibition, which can be visited from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., will continue until 12 September 2022, ending with a finissage event. The event will be rounded off by a seminar by the Order of Architects of Rome and Province, on the theme of “Enhancement of river banks, and the creation of River Parks”, in which artists, speakers and landscape architects will participate.

Already presented in July 2021, when it preceded the exhibition at the Palazzo Velli Expo in Rome, with the same ASIART Cultural Association and LPGA Little Painter Global International Art Exhibition, Cohesion: Water and Life this year sees the continuation of the first exhibition, thanks also to the participation of artists and young students from Beijing.

The exhibition is curated by the sculptor Oriana Impei, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, with the critical curation of Professor Francesco Gallo Mazzeo, art historian and former lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.

The central theme of the exhibition is to draw attention to the problems related to the global distribution of water resources, which are extremely uneven and scarce. The exhibition therefore focuses on the resource of water as a source of life, and of inspiration for all twenty-five artists, who are joined by the very young students from Chinese schools in Beijing, who have created drawings and paintings inspired by water and life. The hope is that these “little seeds of art” from the East can grow under the guidance of the greatest Italian masters, creating an intercontinental bond based on art, aimed at building a bridge of academic dialogue between Eastern and Western art.

The Association ASEM ITALIA OdV Associazione per il sostegno dell’infanzia mozambicana is participating in the exhibition with the project Acqua sicura per salvare vite (Safe Water to Save Lives), which goes hand in hand with the theme of the exhibition.
The founder of ASEM, Barbara Hofmann, has obtained 6 hectares of land in a village to build a vegetable garden in a place called “Paradiso” to save women and girls who are slaves to abuse and violence, by building two wells in the ground, where it will be possible to cultivate and provide drinking water and make the population self-sufficient so that they can continue to live. This is where art comes into play, to the rescue, with the Chinese children, the Masters, the artists who will contribute by donating their own artistic work to ASEM for the benefit of a just cause.
