Marta Bichisao, dancer and choreographer, and Vincenzo Schino, director and visual artist, are the founders of the artistic research group Opera Bianco, created in 2006.
The meeting is a way of getting to know each other, of revealing oneself
in the moment when one listens to the other. This meeting is theatre.
Opera Bianco works with theatre, dance, performance and visual art in Italy and abroad (France, Germany and Russia).
The group’s works have been presented at the most important theatre and contemporary art festivals, such as the Milan Triennale and the Rocca Albornoz as part of the Festival dei 2 Mondi in Spoleto, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, and La Briquetterie (FR).
In 2010, with the performance Sonno, Opera Bianco won the Lia Lapini and Linea D’Ombra award. In 2011, it was among the groups selected to represent Italian theatre in Moscow.
Many articles and in-depth studies have been written in national newspapers and specialist magazines. Some students in Italy and France have used the company’s work as a thesis topic.
By nature linked to continuous research, the group is constantly reconfigured through collaborations and exchanges. The multiplicity of forms of expression it draws on creates immersive performance experiences, in which the challenge to the traditional form of engagement offers the audience alternative postures, visions and points of view.
Thanks to the invitation of Prof. Marcello Gallucci, Marta Bichisao and Vincenzo Schino meet the students of the History of Performing Arts course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, opening a dialogue on the creative processes of their latest works through video documents, words and the sharing of simple practices.
