As part of the programme for the Portraits on Stage Festival in the municipalities of the Aniene Valley, after a period of artistic residency in Anticoli Corrado (from 26 June to 2 July) at Villa Ulivella owned by Rita Colozzi and Ralph Westbury, some students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and their lecturers Oriana Impei and Eclario Barone will create installations in the park of the same villa using natural and recycled materials that, together, will form a distributed Ephemeral Theatre.
These spaces, set up in this way, will host ‘site-specific’ performances by the young artists of the Academy and travelling concerts by the students of the ‘Corelli’ music high school in Rome under the guidance of maestro Massimo Munari. The musical performance will feature two violinists who will perform music by Bela Bartòk, a composer par excellence linked to folk and peasant music. The roots of Bartok’s music are in fact found in the rhythms and melodies of ancient folk songs.
