The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome mourns the passing of Antonio Bisaccia, holder of the Chair of Theory and Methodology of Mass Media at the Albertina Academy in Turin and Director of the “Mario Sironi” Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari. A refined and highly cultured scholar, in recent years Antonio Bisaccia has carried out constant, valuable and passionate work as President of the Conference of Directors of the Academies of Fine Arts and Dramatic Art and recently as President of the CNAM, the National Council for Higher Education in Art and Music. From these positions, Antonio Bisaccia has achieved unexpected and long-awaited results, such as the activation of Research Doctorates and the recruitment of teaching staff on a national basis, aimed at the no longer postponable recognition of the AFAM-Higher Education in Art and Music sector as equivalent to the University. It will not be easy to take up his legacy, but it will be necessary to do so in order to fulfil, also in his memory, what was his aspiration and his dream, shared by all the Italian Academies of Fine Arts.
