Regulation (EU) 2022/1369 of 5 August 2022 provides for measures to reduce natural gas consumption in the period 1 August 2022 – 31 March 2023. In line with this provision, on 6 September 2022, the Ministry of Ecological Transition (MITE) announced the “National Plan for the Containment of Gas Consumption” which, among other things, contains containment measures in the heating sector and a set of measures for the efficient use of energy, also addressed to the Public Administration.
The PA, with 3.2 million employees, 32,000 organisations and almost 1.2 million buildings spread throughout the country, is in fact a strategic sector for the implementation of energy saving and efficiency measures.
The measures for the public sector, shared with the MITE, also include direct training and awareness-raising for administration staff on the issues of intelligent and rational use of energy and energy saving in public workplaces.
With this in mind, central and local administrations are asked, in addition to following the instructions given by their Energy Managers, to ensure the maximum dissemination of the guidelines set out in the document “Energy saving and efficiency in the office – Operational guide for employees”, attached to this notice, prepared by the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development – ENEA.
