How to apply for a work placement
Students may request a list of organisations affiliated with our institution by emailing placement@abaroma.it, or they may choose an organisation not included on the list (whether it is a for-profit or non-profit organisation).
Students will have the opportunity to choose, based on their own academic background, one or more partner companies, or even non-partner companies. After identifying the organisation where they would like to do their work placement, students must consult their school coordinator, to whom they should send their curriculum vitae and training plan, so that the coordinator can check that the activities planned for the placement are consistent with their course of study. Requests must be sent by the relevant Head of School to this email address (placement@abaroma.it), with a copy of the reference number. If the student chooses a non-partner organisation, they must include the organisation’s email address in the request email sent to the lecturer, which we will use to proceed with the agreement.
Once the company affiliated with the Academy has agreed with the student on the duration, the placement activities, etc., the student may submit a request to draw up the Training Plan to the following address: placement@abaroma.it. It is important to identify a work placement tutor and an academic tutor; the academic tutor is usually a lecturer at the school.

How to set up an agreement
To begin a work placement, students can choose from the companies that have an agreement with the Academy (the list is attached and is updated regularly). It will be possible to contact the chosen company directly to arrange the details of the work placement, including the total number of hours, the name of the tutor and the activities to be carried out. If opting for a company not included on the list, an agreement will need to be drawn up, which will require the placement office to contact a representative of the company. The agreement is valid for both profit and non-profit companies. This agreement recognises the activity carried out at the company as valid.

Duration
Once the work placement programme, which lasts for a maximum of six months, has been agreed with the company, it will be required to provide the office with certain details to be included in the training plan. This document attests to the hours worked and the activities carried out, and is signed by all parties involved: the company, the Academy and the trainee. This also includes INAIL insurance. The work placement cannot begin without all the necessary documentation; failure to provide this will result in the credits not being awarded. We therefore recommend that you notify us of the work placement at least two weeks before it begins.

Training programme and documentation
The Student Training Programme is a “contract” between the parties (the Academy, the company and the trainee); it is a document certifying the hours and activities (signed by all parties: the company, the Academy and the trainee) and includes INAIL insurance paid for by the Academy. Once the work placement period has ended, this document serves as recognition of the work placement activities carried out in terms of CFA.
Please note that the training programme cannot be agreed without an agreement between the Academy and the Company. This is an essential requirement in order to subsequently enter into the agreement (Training Plan) between the parties (Academy/Company/Trainee).
Upon completion of the work placement, students must download the credit recognition form from the website, complete it and attach the relevant documentation:

Credit recognition and forms
At the end of the internship, for the purposes of credit recognition, the student shall submit the following by email to protocollo@abaroma.it, as specified in the Individual Training Plan (PFI):

  • credit recognition form, signed by the academic tutor (lecturer), which can be downloaded here. The lecturer will sign the document after reviewing and verifying the work placement activities, by means of:
  • a final report on the activities carried out and the quality of the student’s work, drawn up and issued by the company tutor;
  • the PFI (training programme), which has been signed by all three parties and registered;
  • the register of attendance.

N.B.: In accordance with the regulations, 25 hours are equivalent to 1 CFA.

Extension of the work placement:
If a student or the organisation decides to extend the work placement, they must notify the Placement Office (placement@abaroma.it) at least two weeks before the end of the planned period, so that the training programme can be updated and the INAIL insurance activated.
Please note that the maximum duration of the work placement is six months; therefore, if the previous work placement has already reached this duration, a further extension will not be possible.

Withdrawal from the work placement
In the event of withdrawal from the work placement, the student must promptly notify this by email to placement@abroma.it, copying in the protocol number (protocollo@abaroma.it). The credits accrued by the trainee up to the point of withdrawal will, however, be recognised.

Downloadable and editable forms:

Note: the form for the final report drawn up by the Company Tutor is not included, as the Company Tutor will be required to draw it up on company letterhead.
