A choral protest performance by Iranian and Italian students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome expresses its solidarity with the Iranian people in their struggle for dignity and freedom, because the battles for civilisation are always universal.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome expresses its support for the women and men in Iran who are fighting for human and civil rights under the banner of freedom. In particular, after the killing of Mahsa Amini, the protest reaction of women, men, young and old brings to the surface something that has been stifled for too long, first and foremost human rights. The authorities’ response to the protests was to cut off the Iranian people’s channels of communication and expression. And the atrocities continue. The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome therefore joins the other institutions around the world that have sent messages of solidarity.
The artistic performance by Iranian and Italian students united in the name of brotherhood between peoples will see the collective and joint creation of a colossal painting on canvas hanging from the building of the Academy of Fine Arts, accompanied by a large vertical banner that praises the unifying principle of “Women – Life – Freedom”.
