Set Design course by Prof. Novella Tabili, in collaboration with the Photography Direction course by Prof. Marco Manzo
The workshop starts from a workshop launched last academic year and concludes with a staged reading of fragments of dialogues taken from Sophocles’ Antigone and Anouilh’s Antigone.
The aim is to offer students the opportunity to engage with scenographic materials and lighting, in a process of creating and developing images in constant relationship with the actress performing the text. The dialogues, read in person by Giulia Bornacin, alternate in a mirrored manner with the projected ones, using a single stage element: a large cloak/backdrop, which will also act as a screen for the projection of the photographic video images developed by the students.
The staged reading is scheduled at the Teatro Trastevere on 24 May 2023 at 12:00 pm.
The assembly, creation and disassembly activities will take place according to the following schedule:
- 8:30 am – 12:30 pm: set and lights
- 12:30 pm – 1:15 pm: Stage reading and video recording of the performance.
- 14.00 – 15.00: dismantling
- The performer of the text is the actress Giulia Bornacin
