The Attraversamenti workshop is offered as a workshop for the exploration and visual storytelling of urban spaces, with the aim of exercising the gaze and deepening knowledge of places. The intention is to bring out what we really perceive when we cross a space, the details that remain imprinted in our senses and that define the identity of the place itself.
Workshop Objectives
Through moments of observation, listening, and immersion in the history of an area of the city, students will be guided to develop a narrative that conveys the spatial essence of the place explored. This visual narrative aims to capture not only the physical aspect of the spaces, but also the emotional and historical dimension, creating an authentic and multifaceted portrait.
Tools and Methodology
Participants will use a variety of tools to tell the story of the places they have crossed, including:
• Video: to capture the dynamism and sounds of the urban environment
• Photography: to capture significant details and atmospheres
• Digital representation: for graphic interpretations and creative overlays
• Drawing and painting: to add a personal and emotional perspective
Through these media, participants will explore visual language in all its forms to construct a multifaceted narrative of the place.
Final Project: Animated Video Story
The workshop will culminate in the creation of a video story, in which each student will produce a sequence of images – a combination of photographs, drawings, paintings and digital representations – animated to create a visual journey. This video story will represent a synthesis of the experience, blending the different media to convey a profound and unique vision of the place explored.
