The workshop is aimed at students on the three-year and two-year Multimedia and Technological Arts courses who are interested in incorporating 3D digital tools and modelling techniques into their artistic research and practice for rapid prototyping and the real-time fabrication of sculptural models.
Led by the artist Auriea Harvey, a pioneer in the field of digital sculpture and net art, the workshop offers a hybrid creative process that combines 3D scanning, photogrammetry and digital modelling using various software packages, including Nomad, Blender and ZBrush.
Students will have the opportunity to develop original sculptural models, following both technical and conceptual guidelines, up to the final creation of a 3D-printed sculpture ready to be subsequently reimagined in other materials. Harvey will propose an artistic theme for the work, guiding the participating students in the creation of sculptures with their own narrative, which will be developed and completed during the workshop.
