The “In tiratura limitata” project, a collaborative activity between the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, with the Schools of Graphic Design and Painting, and the publishing company Il Laboratorio/le edizioni in Naples, is now in its third and final edition.
The In tiratura limitata programme has seen the creation of a series published by the publishing house, which brings together the three editions produced during the activities with the students.
In the workshops, students were involved and guided in the design of art portfolios produced in limited editions, with the opportunity to learn about and practise original art printing in professional production in collaboration with one of the best-known international graphic arts companies.
The third and final session will close the production cycle with the creation of the copy that will complete the series production and the publication of the complete series.
The workshop offers the opportunity to explore art graphics in the innovation and developments of contemporary artistic and communicative processes in relation to the large sector of art publishing systems.
The training experience will engage students in the design and creation of graphic works through the traditional and experimental processes of engraving techniques and art printing, making them aware of the multiplicity of creative processes in the production of a valuable art edition. Each student will have the opportunity to get in touch with the practices of graphic and publishing art, approaching the variety of execution phases in the production of a reproducible work,
with the ability to profitably grasp the functions and qualities in the value of the individual copy produced and the effectiveness in the multiple copies produced in series.
