Why do we need ‘inclusive design/arts’?
Because at this historical juncture of ecological, human and social disasters, ART and DESIGN must necessarily (also) play a role of social utility. Because the students of ABA Rome need to present themselves to work environments and the regulatory obligations on accessibility – also extended to medium-sized enterprises from June 2025 – will require the search for professional but also expressive skills in the field.
By 1 May 2025 You are therefore invited to submit to Prof. Enrico Bisenzi by email (e.bisenzi@abaroma.it) or Teams, an idea of inclusive design/art capable of finding concrete and useful solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises, which are now subject to the regulatory obligation to offer services and products to the public without any barriers for people with disabilities.
However, ‘inclusive’ solutions of a broad scope will also be taken into consideration, involving the issues of gender differences, social inequality and ‘social gaps’ to be overcome and resolved. The proposals will also be brought to the attention of representatives of incubators and start-ups through the organisation of the event on Thursday, 8 May in Room 1A (CB) from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm during which you will have the opportunity to present your idea to any interested contacts (if you cannot come in person due to other teaching commitments, the coordinating lecturer, together with workshop technicians Morena Foglia and Chiara Protani, will present the projects on your behalf).
TALK ABOUT & PLACE INCLUSIVE IDEAS: INVITATION TO MANAGERS OF INCUBATORS & STARTUPS
The managers and representatives of incubators and startups in the Lazio Region are hereby kindly invited to a day of presentation of ‘inclusive ideas’. From June 2025, small and medium-sized enterprises, in addition to the public sector, will also be subject to the regulatory obligation to offer services and products to the public without any barriers for people with disabilities, and for this reason there is a need to find and/or learn about inclusive design solutions. On Thursday 8 May, from 12:00 p.m. until the end of the event, in Room 1A of the Campo Boario site of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome – Largo Dino Frisullo s.n.c., there will be a day of presentation of expressive ideas and inclusive design.
