Workshop with Farnoosh Samadi, an award-winning Iranian screenwriter and director who teaches in Tehran and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
Lecturers in charge: Giovanni Albanese, Sara Santarelli
The Workshop is reserved for students on the two-year Cinematography and Performing Arts course and for third-year students of the School of Cinema, Photography, Audiovisual Arts and New Technologies for Art.
The students, coordinated by the screenwriter and director Farnoosh Samadi, will acquire the main skills of screenwriting and filming.
In the first part of the Workshop, we will study technical découpage, the reverse writing method and the differences between short films and feature films.
At the same time, the students will be asked to make a group short film.
Cinema is the last example of a Renaissance workshop; knowing how to work in a group is fundamental, and every professional skill is essential for the success of the film.
The students will be grouped according to their abilities. They will be shown some short films.
The reverse writing and reverse découpage exercise will involve one of these short films.
At the end of the workshop, the short film made by the students will be screened and discussed.
To facilitate the work, filming will take place in the Academy’s spaces or not far from it.
Those interested should send an email to s.santarelli@abaroma.it by 20 April with documentation of the videos they have already made.
A selection will be made based on the applications submitted.
