Details about the Project xx1 association
Project xx1 is an organisation that has been in continuous operation since 1999, under different names (e.g. Amaranta, Orma Fluens). The project was relaunched as xx1 in 2017.
Project xx1 explores performance in its most contemporary sense, creating immersive experiences: complex and layered, multi-sensory narrative worlds. Places change their appearance, transforming into large site-specific installations where intertwining stories come to life to be explored, discovered and inhabited. An all-encompassing, immersive artistic adventure, inspired by the trends of contemporary art, narrative and playful traditions, where the viewer’s experience is at the centre: they are invited to explore, to be intrigued, to chase, to seek their own path, to immerse themselves totally in an experience that is unique every time.
Project xx1’s explorations take shape in 4 main directions:
- Artistic productions open to the public
- Training: with variable durations (from daily Masterclasses to annual courses)
- Teaching for children and young people: where immersiveness is used for educational purposes
- Social Theatre Projects: where immersive experiences are used as a tool for inclusive, team-building purposes
Stable collaborations: Ass. Cult. Controchiave, Terre-moto Performance, INCA, Cassiopea Academy of Dramatic Art, European University of Rome.
