Workshop on theory and practical laboratory work on technologies and software for the design and creation of live performances using Video Mapping.
Video mapping is a video projection technique that potentially transforms any surface into a screen. It is the borderland where art, architecture and technology converge in the service of a new form of expression that temporarily transforms our classic perception of spaces and objects.
Students will learn:
- Adaptation of video content to irregular surfaces and architectures with different software for PC and MAC, using one or more projectors managed by the same computer.
- Guidance on creating static and animated content based on the skills of each individual student.
- Various projection techniques (on urban surfaces, on objects, inside theatres, during events) using the Resolume Arena software for PC and MAC.
- Projection onto an architectural scale model of a church.
- Management of video elements for theatrical performances, stage design, video installations and live VJing by connecting the space to music and video in real time.
