The event “Lezioni di suono #1” is aimed at students and external guests and focuses on the creative possibilities of sound and the reworking of music and sound in the field of artistic research. The three guests who will speak, presenting their work as one of the possible operating models, were previously involved in enriching the MPDS sound archive that constitutes the donation of the Only Sound room to the Academy.

Ana Spasic soprano, with FuturParoLibere, illustrates futurist poems, among the most emblematic of the period between 1910 and 1931, interpreted (recreated on the spot) by Ana Spasic in a multifaceted SIGN – SOUND – GESTURE and VISION key. The futurvoce soprano, as indicated in Pratella’s manifesto, through the multisensoriality of the “colour-mimic-dynamic-musical theatre”, experiments with the intrinsic dimensions as a possibility of dynamic and expressive expansion in some graphic poems by Marinetti, Depero, Masnata, Cangiullo, Benedetta, Balla, Illari, Steiner, Ginna Futurista. The event is divided into four movements: 1) Tavole parolibere or Parole in libertà, 2) Tavolibere or Stati d’animo, 3) Depero’s Onomalingua and 4) Marinetti’s Cronache di guerra.
Alessandro Aiello (CANECAPOVOLTO/Scuola FuoriNorma), with the collaboration of Adriano Elia, will present Datapanic and Resoundscape, two projects that deal, in different ways, with the reworking of a sound archive and the creative composition of sounds and noises, attempting to overcome the boundaries of musical genres and discover new relationships between music, sound art and archival sound material.
Stuart Fowkes (Cities and Memory) will present his sound project Cities and Memory, one of the largest sound projects in the world, with more than 1,000 participating artists. The exploration of field recording and the possibilities of creative reworking are the central themes of his project, which aims to “remix the world, one sound at a time”. Underpinning this is a global and collaborative sound map covering more than 110 countries and territories,
Cities and Memory thoroughly examines the aspects of the intersections between sound, culture and art, with recent projects documenting the sounds of the Covid-19 lockdowns, the sounds of the Arctic and Antarctic, sustainability in cities, protest, prayer and the natural world.
