From the first Romantic artists and writers, through the Surrealists, to the Situationists, the same idea has spread: combining the critique of capitalist society with the search for a different life, lived poetry, adventure and love. This Romantic current was not outside of reality, but was linked to the various revolutionary movements in politics, society, the arts and customs.
