“From the genesis of my work, this book leads, through 31 steps, to the genesis of the universe and, at the same time, to the genesis of a new society.”
In his new book, published by Cittadellarte Edizioni in December 2022, Michelangelo Pistoletto recounts in 31 steps the human and artistic journey that led him to define the Formula of Creation. Also called the Formula of Life by the artist himself.
The book retraces, step by step, the path that human beings have travelled, creating religion, politics, science and the cultures of society thanks to the germinal ferment of art. These pages help us understand how to face the epochal transition that humanity is experiencing, engulfed by the general crisis of the systems that it has itself created.
With the Formula of Creation, Michelangelo Pistoletto offers us the opportunity to reconsider the cornerstones of our existence and calls us to a new responsibility towards ourselves, towards others, and towards the nature of which we are a part.
The universal rule, identified in the Formula of Creation, becomes, through the book’s journey, applicable in every moment of daily life.
It is a call to use the Formula of Creation to become co-authors of a new society.
